Private Lessons

One- or two-hour private lessons are available if you would like to book a sewing lesson or consultation with one of our instructors. You may purchase lessons for one or two people. Choose the amount of time you would like for your lesson based on what you are hoping to learn or get assistance with.

For a beginner ("learn-to-sew") lesson, we suggest booking 2 hours to learn the basics of how your sewing machine works: how to sew a seam, threading, and basic troubleshooting (you may even leave with a small sewn project if time allows). If you would like to request assistance with a sewing project that you need help with specific skills or techniques to complete, 1 hour may suffice. We can also provide a sizing or fitting consult and assist with pattern adjustment. Use your best judgement to determine how much time you will need. 

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner and up (ages 12 and up)

DATES/TIMES: 
The following time slots are typically available for scheduling private lessons, though instructor availability will vary from week to week.

Wednesdays, 9 AM - 3 PM and 5-7 PM 
Friday and Saturday mornings 9 AM - noon
Friday evenings 5-7 PM
Sundays 9 AM - 5 PM

When you check out, please indicate your preferences for lesson times and we will follow up with you to schedule your lesson. Please provide the name(s) and age(s) - if less than 18 years of age -- of the student(s) who will attend.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Studio sewing machines and sample fabric for practice are provided.

For private lessons you may bring your own sewing machine along. If this is a learn-to-sew lesson, please let us know the make and model of your machine ahead of time so we can familiarize ourselves with it before you arrive. If you would like to work with your own fabric, garment, or a specific pattern, please bring that along.

CANCELLATION POLICY: 

If you need to cancel, please contact the studio as soon as possible. Cancellations more than 48 hours before the lesson starts will receive credit towards a future lesson. Cancellations less than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled lesson time are non-refundable unless we can fill your slot with another lesson. If Marengo Studio needs to cancel this lesson for any reason, you will be notified and may choose a full refund or credit towards a future class. Thank you for your understanding!
