How to Sew for Beginners
In this 2.5-hour class you will learn the basics of how a sewing machine works - threading, adjusting tension, and basic seam sewing to get you started on your sewing journey. Whether it's your very first time sitting down at a sewing machine, or it's been awhile and you want to brush up on the basics, this class is for you!
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner-Beginner (ages 16+)

Saturday June 6, 9 AM - 11:30 AM (morning)
Saturday July 11, 1 PM - 3:30 PM (afternoon)
Saturday August 8, 9 AM- 11:30 PM (morning)
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
The parts of your sewing machine and what they do
How to sew a seam
How to thread your machine
How to wind your bobbin
How to finish an edge so it won't fray
Basic troubleshooting
If time allows, we will make a very easy sample project using a piece of fabric (scrap fabric will be provided). By the end of class, you will know how to use a sewing machine and feel ready for your first sewing project!
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
Studio sewing machines and sample fabric for practice are provided. Feel free to bring scraps of fabric along if you would like.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you need to cancel, please contact the studio as soon as possible. Cancellations more than 3 days before the class starts will receive credit towards a future class. Cancellations less than 3 days are non-refundable. Each class must have at least three participants in order to run. Marengo Studio reserves the right to cancel this class if we do not have enough participants (you will be notified of a cancellation at least 48 hours ahead of the class start and may choose a full refund or credit towards a future class).
